DAY TO DAY PROGRAM
Day 1: Arrival to Iceland, drive to Hveragerdi
Departure towards Iceland with arrival in Keflavik during the day. You will pick up your rental car, and already today start you adventure as you will drive toward the charming little village Hveragerdi on the south coast. If you had an early arrival, you can consider to add on a visit at the Blue Lagoon, before your start your journey.
Hveragerdi is known for its hot springs, and you can from town visit one of the warm streams, running down the mountain. Included in your stay is overnight at 2 or 3* accommodation with private facilities and breakfast included. Today you will drive approx. 100 km.
Day 2: South Coast
After breakfast you will continue your adventure along the south coast of Iceland. You will pass by the world famous glacier Eyjafjallajokull and also visit the beautiful waterfalls of the south coast; Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss. You end the tour by a visit to the biggest town on the south coast, Vik. The town is surrounded by black lave beaches. You will return back to Hveragerdi for overnight. Today you will drive approx. 350 km.
Day 3: Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir National Park
After Breakfast you will drive towards the national park Thingvellir, known for being the place where the continental plates of Europe and America separates. It was also in this area the first parlament of Iceland took form, and the location is therefore very historic and special to the Icelanders. Close by you can visit the sporuting geysers and the huge and amazing waterfall Gullfoss. Consider to also add on a visit to Fontana Spa, a local spa experience with amazing view. Drive back to Reykjavik for your overnight at a 2 or 3* accommodation in town with private facilities and breakfast included. Today you will drive approx. 300km
Day 4: Reykjavik, Day at leisure
Enjoy the day in Reykjavik at leisure, or go explore the peninsula of Snefellsness or Reykjanes, or simple just relax in town. If you wish to add on extra tours, such as whale watching or similar we will be happy to help you book this in advance.
Day 5: Reykjavik, departure
After breakfast, in time for your return flight, you will drive to Keflavik Airport and return your rental car before departure back home. We hope you have enjoyed your stay! Today you will drive approx. 50 km
