Spend some family quality time on the Faroe Island
– Away from every day life, surrounded mostly by unique nature, interesting history and local culture, the Faroe Islands are perfect for family get aways. You will have a rental car at your disposal, and can explore the Islands in your own pace.
The package includes accommodation and car rental for your entire stay. We will also add some excursions and ferry tickets for you, so you get to see most of the Islands in the time given.
Day 1, Departure from Copenhagen.
Departure from Copenhagen as agreed. (We have several departures a day). Pick up your rental car and set our for your first day of exploration. You drive towards the capital of the Faroe Islands, Tórshavn, and continue directly to pier (1 hours drive). Today you will sail from Gamlarætt to the Island Sandoy, a short trip of approx. 30 minuttes. The Ferry sails to the village Skopun, where you can see the biggest mailbox in the world, driving through the village. Continue to Skálavik where you will be staying at the family friendly hotel Skálavik for the next 3 nights.
Day 2: Witches and trolls
Sanday Island is one big play ground to be enjoyed by everyone. Visit the beaches, the cosy small settlements and observe the sheeps that is enjoying summer at grass around the island. In the old days witches and trolls lived on this Island – side by side with the vikings, so there are many interesting stories to be told. A local guide can tell you about the stories and shot you evidence of the witches stay on the Island. Remember to bring packed lunch for todays tour.
Day 3: Day at leisure
Enjoy a day at leisure in your own pace on the Island. If you are looking for an activity you can pre-book a family visit during the afternoon for afternoon tea with a local family. The can tell you more about everyday life on the Island. This is not included in the tour, but we can help you to pre-book it.
Day 4: Tórshavn
Today you will return to Tórshavn and check in to your own private cottage for the rest of your stay. We recommend you explore the cosy town , shops and restaurant. There is also a small aquarium Sjósavnið that could be worth a visit.

Day 5, 6 and 7: Days at leisure
With you car at disposal you can visit all the northern Islands and and enjoy amazing nature sights all over the Faroe islands for the next couple of days. You can add on a boat trip from Vestmanna to the famous bird cliffs, or you can visti Gjógv or Saksun. All charming places with great hiking routes and views. We also recommend a visit to the village Kirkjubøur, the cultural center of the Faroe Island where you will find church ruins and one of the oldes houses, own by the same family for generations. Our maybe you just want to enjoy each others company, playing card , cooking and spending time together as a family.

Day 8: Departure
Return to Vagar Island for your departure back to Copenhagen. Drop off your rental car and waive goodbye as you return back home.
