TUNDRA HIKING & OUTDOOR COOKING

This is our favourite tour in Kangerlussuaq; We offer this new and exciting hike in Kangerlussuaq with our local guide. This will take us out into the wild, where we will look for muskox, rein deer, snow hare and cook lunch over open fire. This summer we spotted muskoxes on 95% of all trips!

DOG SLEDGE

Driving on a dog sledge across the whte snow covered fjord viewing the mountains and silent landscape is an extraordinary experience. You should not miss itJ
We can arrange everything from 2 hours to several days of dog sledge expeditions. Dog sledging is a very special form of travelling, where you get close to the hunters and the dogs in their element of nature.

ICE FISHING

Learn the traditional ways of fishing on the ice-covered fjord. We will drive by car to the harbor. From here we will walk onto the thick ice of the Kangerlussuaq fjord and look for the most optimal places to dig a hole for our line fishing. Usually there are loads of fish under the ice in this area!

TUNDRA & WILDLIFE TOUR

Kangerlusssuaq has incredibly beautiful nature and is home to the massive musk ox. We will drive through the stunning tundra landscape in our 4WD truck and the guide will fill us in on the various kinds of wildlife in this area. Maybe we’ll get the chance to spot musk oxen and learn more about these incredible creatures.

SIGHTSEEING IN KANGERLUSSUAQ

The history of Kangerlussuaq is that is a former American air base that was developed in 1941 during World War 2. Up to 1992 it was in periods active but the Americans left it in 1992. Since then it has been the busiest airport Airport in Greenland. On this sightseeing tour you will experience exciting stories, starting from the origins of the base, from the second World War to the Cold War, into a modern international airport.
